After attending Kutztown University, Kourtney made the bold decision to drop out and pursue her dreams in Los Angeles. She was scouted on campus and guided to modeling school, where she fell in love with the industry on a whole new level.
Her first professional gig was a commercial for Constellation Energy, but that was just the beginning. Kourtney quickly rose to prominence, being featured in prestigious publications including Sports Illustrated, Maxim, FHM, Playboy, and Yard Baker.
She earned the titles of Philadelphia's Hottest Blonde and Model of the Year for both the Philadelphia Phillies and Flyers, establishing herself as a fan favorite in the sports modeling world.
When Fame Became a Nightmare
In 2012, Kourtney's life was turned upside down when she became the victim of a dangerous cyberstalker. Louis F. Plascencia, a 47-year-old man from Chicago, began sending her constant, threatening emails with graphic details about how he would harm her and her family.
The threats were chillingly specific—he knew her parents' names and address, writing emails like: "I hope you die in an automobile accident and it crushes your ugly face through the windshield and a large piece of glass cuts your throat."
The FBI took the case due to the severity and specificity of the threats. As FBI spokesperson Laura Eimiller stated: "Reading through the criminal complaint one would think that this person had the wherewithal, possibly, to carry out, really, a murder."
"I was really freaked out. He knew my parents' address. It was really scary," Kourtney told the Chicago Sun-Times. The stalker was eventually arrested and faced five years in federal prison.
This traumatic experience transformed Kourtney from a successful model into a fierce advocate for cyberstalking victims and online safety. She now uses her platform to raise awareness about the dangers of cyberstalking and the need for stronger protections.
Single Motherhood: The Fight of Her Life
Kourtney's most challenging chapter began during pregnancy when her baby's father was unfaithful, leaving her to face pregnancy alone. As a model who had battled eating disorders, pregnancy became an emotional rollercoaster that led to a 100-pound weight gain.
"After being cheated on while pregnant, I turned to food," Kourtney revealed. "Food no longer became the enemy, it was vital to get what I needed for my son, and if that meant destroying my body for a healthy child, I was up for it!"
Her son was born healthy at 9 pounds, 20 ounces, but Kourtney faced the challenges of single motherhood with no support system. "I was raising a child solo with literally no support system and no family. It was hard. I also battled with depression and anxiety."
Over five years, while building her career and raising her son in Los Angeles, Kourtney fought to reclaim her health and identity. She underwent surgery to remove excess skin and developed a fitness routine that worked with her demanding schedule as a single mother.
"My son became my purpose. I've learned that it is ok to enjoy your pregnancy regardless of any circumstance because it's a very precious thing becoming a mother that many women are denied."
